A team of advisors affiliated with Ameriprise Financial in St. Louis has launched their own registered investment advisor, The Bedford Group. The team managed $836 million in client assets, according to Forbes’ list of Best-In-State Wealth Management Teams in 2026.
The team is currently still registered with Ameriprise, but will use Private Client Services for brokerage business, according to filings. The firm has chosen Schwab for custody.
The Bedford Group was founded in 2016 by Joshua Wright as an Ameriprise practice. Wright will serve as CEO of the RIA, which is headquartered in St. Louis. It also has offices in Wichita, Kan., and Ste. Genevieve, Mo.Â
Wright is joined by Darren Pracht, president of TBG West; David Crow, president of client experience; John Willson, managing director; and Founding Advisors Eric Cunningham, Curtis Ittner Jr., Kyle Milfeld, Julio Mendez and Carsen Pracht. Joshua Jones is serving as chief compliance officer, and Andrea Peine is serving as vice president of operations. The team also includes Diana Preston, practice operations director; Drew Pracht, wealth management associate; and Emma Wright, business and finance manager.Â
Joshua Wright did not return requests for comment by press time.
According to a filing, Nicholas Tompras, CEO of Alpine Capital Research, a valuation-based asset management firm, has an ownership interest in the RIA.Â
