“I’ve managed to catch them early enough to be able to reverse some of the damage,” Lennon writes, urging fans to “get checked out”

Julian Lennon revealed that he has been diagnosed with coronary heart disease and is also pre-diabetic. In an Instagram post, he implored fans “to get checked out sooner rather than later.”

“You never know what hidden health issues you may have,” he added.

He continued: “Even with these ailments, I’ve managed to catch them early enough to be able to reverse some of the damage and will hopefully be able to live a healthy long life.” Lennon concluded the post by thanking the doctors who aided him in the process.

Lennon, 63, is the eldest son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia Powell. In February 2020, Lennon underwent the removal of a mole on his head (which he had had for his entire life) after a biopsy revealed that it was cancerous. “Life is too short,” he wrote on Facebook. “Don’t make it shorter, by being ignorant about your own health.”

Two years later, while on the Joe Rogan Experience, Lennon revealed he had a biopsy taken from his arm. “I go for the proper check-up, like twice a year, on every front,” he said on the podcast. “Just to make sure I’m going to be around. Because I like living. I want to be around for a long time.”

Julian inspired several Beatles songs, including “Hey Jude,” “Good Night,” and “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.” Following in his father’s footsteps, Lennon became a musician and released his debut single “Too Late for Goodbyes” and album Valotte in 1984. He released his seventh studio album Jude in 2022 via BMG.
