The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 1.4% in April, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Final demand prices moved up 0.7% in March and advanced 0.6% in February.
On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose 6% for the 12 months ending in April. The index for final demand less foods, energy and trade services rose 0.6% in April and 4.4% since the same time last year.
