The singer and her husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, have embraced life on their 400-acre Franklin, Tennessee farm since relocating there full-time in 2019. Their property includes horses, chickens, cows, sheep, donkeys, gardens, and plenty of outdoor work.
“When I’m away [for work], I’m like Cinderella at the ball,” Underwood explained to Us Weekly at the time, adding, “I’m a princess, and it’s great. And then I come home, and I’m covered in dirt [and] poop.”
The singer continued, “I’m cleaning up after everybody and barefoot in the kitchen,” before admitting, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
According to insiders, Underwood genuinely prefers the slower pace of life at home. “Carrie loves life on the farm — growing vegetables, caring for animals and teaching her kids to do the same,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly.

Still, sources say her demanding schedule has created challenges for the family behind closed doors. Her 72-show Las Vegas residency “Reflections” reportedly required major adjustments for everyone in the household.
“Carrie really enjoyed Vegas and would do it again, but she needed a break. “It’s a great gig with a nice schedule, and it’s also a lot of work,” an insider explained.
The source added that Fisher and the couple’s sons often traveled back and forth to Nevada during the residency, but eventually everyone was ready to settle back into Tennessee life full-time.
Fisher, in particular, reportedly craves normalcy despite supporting his wife’s career. “As supportive as he is of her career, he’s a guy who wants normalcy,” the insider said, further noting, “They are a very traditional couple living a not-so-traditional life.”
