The Met Gala may seem like it’s just a big, flashy party for industry A-listers, but there’s actually several very STRICT rules guests must follow — or face the wrath of Anna Wintour!
As we anticipate all the glamorous celebrity red carpet arrivals at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC tonight, we thought we’d pull back the curtain on just how tight of a ship Ms. Wintour, the fashion legend herself, runs!

According to The US Sun, the former Vogue editor-in-chief demands all guests follow five STRICT rules or face a possible lifetime ban!
Absolutely NO Phones!
That means no secret bathroom selfies — like the famous one Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, A$AP Rocky, and others snapped in 2017! According to the outlet, guests began receiving the following notice in 2015:
“The use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala.”
NO Smoking!
Guests must refrain from smoking while at the event, but that’s not all Anna’s doing. It’s part of New York City‘s Smoke-Free Air Act. However, that didn’t stop Bella Hadid, Rami Malik, and Dakota Johnson from secretly sparking up in 2018, but they were scolded by the Met’s SVP, Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Mary T. Bassett.
