A 2007 dark comedy starring two actresses from Star Wars’ Ahsoka is set to begin streaming on Peacock later this month. The R-rated film is part of Grindhouse, a double feature created by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

Death Proof arrives on Peacock in May

Peacock subscribers will be able to stream Death Proof on the platform from Friday, May 22, 2026. It features both Rosario Dawson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Ahsoka, who played the titular role and Hera Syndulla, respectively.

Death Proof centers on Stuntman Mike, an aging Hollywood stuntman who uses his “death-proof” car to murder young women. In the first half of the film, he stalks one group of women and is successful in killing them. However, in the latter half, he targets a new group of young women who refuse to go down without a fight. This leads to chaos and challenges that Mike never expected.

Quentin Tarantino co-produced, wrote, and directed the film. Robert Rodriguez was also one of the producers who produced the film through his banner, Rodriguez International Pictures. This film was part of their joint double-feature project, with Planet Terror serving as the other half. The two titles were played back-to-back as Grindhouse.

Peacock is also adding Planet Terror on the same day. So, subscribers can binge-watch both films as the filmmakers originally intended.

Death Proof’s cast features Dawson as Abernathy, Winstead as Lee, Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike, Zoë Bell as herself, Vanessa Ferlito as Arlene, Tracie Thoms as Kim, and Rose McGowan as Pam, among others. The Inglourious Basterds director also makes a special appearance as Warren.

Interestingly, Zoë Bell is a real-life stuntwoman who served as Uma Thurman’s stunt double in the Kill Bill films. For Death Proof, Tarantino wrote a character specifically for Bell, allowing her to play as herself and perform stunts (via MOMI).

Released on April 6, 2007, the film garnered a mixed-to-positive reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a Tomatometer score of 67% and a Popcornmeter score of 71%. At the box office, it made roughly $31.1 million.
