Hootie & the Blowfish, Keith Urban, Maluma, Riley Green and sombr have been added to the performance lineup for the 2026 American Music Awards.
They join KATSEYE, Twenty One Pilots and Teddy Swims, who were previously announced, via social media, as performers on the show.
Queen Latifah will host the annual special, which airs live coast-to-coast on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Latifah has a long history with the AMAs, having cohosted the show in 1995 with Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan.
The 52nd American Music Awards will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Memorial Day for the second year in a row. This is the second American Music Awards telecast since it returned following a 2-1/2 year hiatus. It’s the second show to air on CBS and the second to be held in Las Vegas. All previous AMAs shows aired on ABC and were held in the L.A. area. Tickets are now available on AXS.
Nominations for the 52nd American Music Awards were announced on April 14. Fan voting opened the same day. Voting closes on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11:59:59 a.m. PT, with the exception of social song of the year and tour of the year, which will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.

The American Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Billboard parent company Penske Media.

Hootie & the Blowfish

Notes: Thirty years after winning the American Music Award for favorite pop/rock new artist (beating Blues Traveler and Alanis Morissette), Hootie & the Blowfish will return to the AMAs stage to perform some of the hits that earned them that trophy in 1996.

Notes: The Colombian star will return to the AMA stage with a performance of a song from his seventh studio album, Loco x Volver, out May 15.

Notes: Now guest starring in the hit CBS show Marshals, the country star will make his AMA performance debut.

Seven nominations: new artist of the year, song of the year, breakthrough album of the year, song of the summer, breakthrough rock/alternative artist, best rock/alternative song, best rock/alternative album
Notes: sombr’s seven nods puts him in a tie with Morgan Wallen for the most nominations by a male artist this year. The pop/alternative star will make his AMA performance debut ahead of his fall You Are the Reason arena tour.

Notes: The country star will perform a track from his forthcoming yacht rock album Flow State, out June 12. It’s his 13th studio album.

Teddy Swims
One nomination: collaboration of the year for “Gone Gone Gone” (collab with David Guetta and Tones and I)
Notes: Fresh off performances at Coachella and Stagecoach, Swims will perform his latest single “Mr. Know It All.” “Gone Gone Gone” reached No. 51 on the Hot 100 in February 2026.

Twenty One Pilots
Two nominations: best rock/alternative artist and best rock/alternative album for Breach.
Notes: Twenty One Pilots will perform the fan favorite “Drag Path.” Originally released as a limited-time bonus track, the song became a viral hit on social media.
The duo, consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn, won in both categories last year (though last year the categories were labelled just rock, not rock/alternative). Breach, their eighth studio album, topped the Billboard 200 in September 2025, becoming the duo’s second album to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s flagship albums chart.

KATSEYE
Three nominations: new artist of the year, best music video for “Gnarly” and breakthrough pop artist.
Notes: The first-time AMA nominees will offer the U.S. television broadcast premiere of their new single “PINKY UP.” Among groups or duos, only Fuerza Regida has more AMA nods this year (five). With their three nods, KATSEYE is in a five-way tie for second place with BTS, HUNTR/X, The Marías and Sleep Token. “Gnarly” reached No. 82 on the Hot 100 in January 2026.
