Christopher Nolan Looks Lost in This Glorious New Image From ‘The Odyssey’

The second trailer for The Odyssey releases Monday night, and to get ready, let’s play a little game. Remember Where’s Waldo? The picture book game series released in the 1980s? The illustrations showed large crowd scenes, and you’d have to go through and find Waldo, the one tall guy wearing the red and white stripes. Well, we’re going to play that, but it’s called “Where’s Christopher Nolan?” Here’s the image:

Now, of course, we’re joking around here. Nolan is front and center, filming his upcoming epic with an IMAX camera. But we thought this delightful image of one of the most successful and popular modern filmmakers, standing in the middle of this massive sea of people, provided such a fascinating idea of what this movie is going to be. It’s also just kind of hilarious.

Along with that image, Universal released a bunch of other ones, too. First up, here are a few more of Nolan working behind the scenes on The Odyssey.

And here are a bunch of new images from the movie itself featuring Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and others.

In The Odyssey, Matt Damon plays Odysseus, a great Greek leader who is trying to find his way home after the Trojan War. But this isn’t some regular road trip. No, to get home to his wife, Penelope (Anne Hathaway), and son Telemachus (Tom Holland), Odysseus will have to go through hell. We’ll see much more in the new trailer, which is debuting on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Monday night, but, for now, what do you think of the images?

Co-starring Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, The Odyssey opens July 17.
