Prime Video is doubling down on the Reacher universe, but fans shouldn’t expect a carbon copy of the hit Alan Ritchson series when the franchise expands later this year. While the hulking drifter will return to crack skulls in 2026 with Season 4, his best friend is going for a spin-off that promises to march to its own beat.
Neagley star details how different new spin-off will be from Reacher
The upcoming Reacher spin-off, titled Neagley, will have Maria Sten’s sharp-witted Frances Neagley. As the first character to break away from the flagship series, her show faces the challenge of carrying the torch without Jack Reacher physically present. According to cast member Adeline Rudolph, the solution lies in shifting the mood while honoring the DNA of Lee Child’s world.
In a recent interview tied to the Mortal Kombat II theatrical release with Collider, Rudolph spoke about how the spin-off will separate itself from the Ritchson-led mothership. She also assured fans that the connection remains strong, but the experience won’t feel like a blend of the same. “It’s a little bit different in tone, but it definitely has the elements that people love from the Reacher series. We’re definitely living in the same universe,” Rudolph said.
The tonal shift makes strategic sense. Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher operates as a wandering giant, solving problems with brutal efficiency and monosyllabic charm. Neagley, by contrast, has more structural baggage to play with. She is a high-level security consultant running a private agency, which naturally opens the door to a different kind of story. Potentially leaning more into spycraft, teamwork, and psychological tension rather than a one-man-army rampage.
Rudolph aptly summarized the Reacher spin-off, saying, “I really feel like Neagley holds her own in this spin-off, and we’ve got an amazing adventure ahead.” Both the spin-off and Season 4 are expected to be released on Prime Video in 2026.
