Huawei has unveiled a handful of new smartwatches, including the eagerly awaited global launch of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 and the Watch Fit 5 Pro.
Priced at £159.99 and £249.99, the Watch Fit 5 and its Pro sibling stand as Huawei’s mid-range offering in the fitness tracking space, between the budget-friendly Huawei Band 11 Pro and the Apple Watch rival Huawei Watch GT 6 series. If you’re eyeing up a new Apple Watch, you may want to give the Watch Fit range a gander as well – especially if you’re an Android user.
Just like the Huawei Watch Fit 4 range before it, the Fit 5 devices wear their inspiration quite openly as the squarish display and button placement could easily fool passersby into thinking that they’re Apple devices. However, they can be bought for a lot less (the Apple Watch Series 11 starts at £369/$399).
Despite their affordable price tags, these new watches provide much brighter screens than before (the Fit 5 Pro eclipses most smartwatches at 3000 nits), more durable designs, improved sleep tracking, micro-workouts and the ability to make NFC payments via Curve.

These new features sit on top of the very robust fitness tracking software that Huawei has refined over the years, and the Huawei Health app is a particular standout when it comes to offering personalised advice based on the data collected, including actionable advice on how to improve your sleep quality. Both watches can also run for up to 10 days on a single charge, which leaves a lot of more premium wearables in the dust.
We’ve already given the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro a high 4.5-star rating, declaring: “While not a huge upgrade on the Fit 4 Pro, the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is Huawei’s best option for providing Android users with a more complete smartwatch experience.”
Alongside the Watch Fit 5 range, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend was unveiled – serving as a 1.5 upgrade to the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2. This newer version includes 20% more accurate GPS tracking and exclusive watch faces, but carries the same £349.99 price tag.
Finally, the was shown off, and it looks more like a high-end fashion accessory than a smartwatch. With an eye-watering price tag of £3,499.99, this version of the Huawei Watch Ultimate certainly won’t be for everyone, but we can’t remember the last time that a smartwatch appeared with quite so much bling.
