May 12 was Rhea Seehorn‘s birthday, and to celebrate, Apple TV released a bonus clip from Pluribus. It’s the first new Pluribus content we’ve gotten since the season one finale streamed on Christmas Eve, and it shows Seehorn in excellently unhinged form. Fans of the show will immediately realize this is an extended version of the scene where Carol decides to record herself doped up on truth serum… you know, to see how well it works.
It definitely makes a person loosen up. And it makes them do unintentionally hilarious and embarrassing things, especially if they—like Carol in episode four, “Please, Carol”—are capturing everything to watch back when they’re sober again. On Pluribus, Carol is mortified to see herself spiral, sob, read passages from her romantasy book in an exaggerated accent, and give her true feelings about her hive-mind chaperone Zosia (Karolina Wydra).
Presumably, this is the stuff Carol was fast-forwarding through to get to the moments seen in the actual episode. Enjoy!
Interpretive dance moves, deeper ramblings on Zosia’s sex appeal, Carol’s long-lost parakeet, and even a random Gilligan reference… if this is all the new Pluribus we get ahead of season two, well, we could do worse. However, if Apple TV is sitting on any more outtakes, we’d love to see them all!
